While waiting on some friends after the Ohio State Game yesterday, I was
sitting on the grass scanning the aforementioned mudflats with the
binoculars I used during the game (multitasking with my optics). I was
looking at the Olentangy mudflats by the footbridge that crosses next to
the Lincoln and Morrill towers. I saw mostly Killdeer, but heard a Spotted
Sandpiper, saw 2 small peeps (too far away to ID but most likely Least),
and had a flyby SANDERLING. Pretty good birding for not having expected to
get any in!

Good birding,

John Kuenzli
