Meadowbrook Marsh, a public nature preserve owned by Danbury Township, is a small gem of a birding spot located on the southern edge of the Marblehead Peninsula, Ottawa Co., NW Ohio. It seems to get relatively little birding coverage, but it has a good mix of habitats and excellent birding potential; between two recent, brief visits I had a total of almost 70 species there, including Stilt Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper, Bald Eagle, Philadelphia Vireo, Brown Thrasher, Lincoln's Sparrow, and ten species of warblers.

Some birders will probably visit Meadowbrook Marsh for the first time this weekend, either independently or on field trips associated with the Ohio Ornithological Society conference in nearby Lakeside. So it may be useful to know that we've produced a birding map for the site, in the same style as the other BSBO maps. It's available as a PDF for free downloading and printing at this link:

Kimberly and I will be among the field trip leaders at this site on Saturday morning, and we'll hope to see some of you there.
