I had to drive my husband from Cleveland to Lakeside today in the rain from 5:15am to 7:15am so he could pickup a ride to Columbus.  I had the whole day to myself and had planned on going to East Harbor State Park.  After reading Kim Kaufman's report I made sure to check out the beach area.  I didn't see the huge variety and numbers seen further west but I did see some birds.  I checked out the north end of the beach and left when people scared off the terns further out.  I returned hours later and saw mostly Common Terns, Bonapartes Gulls, Caspian Terns, one Great Black-backed Gull and one Black-bellied Plover with the Bonaparte's.  Walking further north I ran into the peeps in one group, it looked like mostly Semipalmated Plovers, Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers.  Not sure what else was in with them.  I went to the Wet Land Trail and Marsh Trail at the south end of the beach area twice today, once in morning and then after 4pm. In the morning
I only found a few pockets of birds, many flycatchers I could not ID and some vireos to far for me to see.  When I returned in the afternoon the area had less birds so when I started to drive out before I reached the causeway I stopped when I heard birds from the car.  This is the area just as you drive in the causeway and then turn right (south) and in the trees, also juniper type trees, in the phragmites and the trees in the grassy medium there were many more birds seen than in the morning.  I saw approx 10 Yellow-rumped Warblers this time, and just as earlier today mostly Blackpoll Warblers. So many birds flying into phragmite area it was hard to see them all. I had not seen any Yellow-rumped Warblers before 4pm or any this fall.  Here are some of the birds seen:
