Took a drive through the cemetery this afternoon, quiet and
undisturbed in the cool drizzle.
Over forty chipping sparrows were hopping around the markers for the
veterans graves and two vocal red breasted nuthatches were visible
in the large spruces in that section.
From the road by the golf course I noticed one merlin perched in a leafless
tree, and as I started driving past, it flew, accompanied by another merlin.
One peregrine was on the usual perch on Tower East.
