Well, I wish I could have made it to the lakefront today but I had to settle for birds in my backyard and feeders. This is in Poland Twp., NE Mahoning Co. Of interest were sharp-shinned hawk, red-breasted nuthatch, chipping sparrow, and 14 dark-eyed juncos. Red-breasted nuthatch has been heard or seen almost daily here since Sept. 6, with at least 2 present a couple times. Hard to say how many total individuals were involved. The sharpie put on a show with a spectacular aerial chase at one point. Before today I'd only seen a couple juncos here. Keeping my eyes peeled for evening grosbeak..........Craig Holt, Lowellville
