Greetings-

The gorgeous adult male Rufous Hummingbird put on a show for many folks today at the Ambour Drive residence in North Olmsted. The Brocone family has been extremely, extremely gracious to allow folks to access their backyard, where the bird spends the majority of it's time at a feeder. There is also another feeder in the front yard where it spend time as well.

Please respect the Brocone's wishes in visiting Only between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm (see details below).

I heard from several folks today that the bird was quite flighty at times and that as soon as someone would motion to others that it was visiting the feeder, it would do an about face and return to sit in vegetation. Remember to keep a very quiet and low profile when observing this bird. It will offer exceptional views if you're relaxed!

Massive thanks to the Brocone family who are very excited to be hosts of this cool bird.

This bird as been present for over a *month* apparently.

Directions and info from yesterday's report:

24233 Ambour Drive, North Olmstead 44070

The Brocones will very kindly allow visitors but have specifically stated that birders can come ONLY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 10 a.m. And 5 p.m.

There are two hummingbird feeders - one in the front and one in the backyard. The bird frequents both but primarily spends time in the backyard.

We are allowed in the backyard. Walk around to the right side of the home and enter through the rope-latched gate. CLOSE IT BEHIND YOU.

They have a dog. If the dog is outside you MUST KNOCK ON THE DOOR of the house so that the pup can be brought in.

Do not approach the feeders closely. Keep respectful distance. The bird is very jumpy.

Photos of the adult male Rufous will be posted later this evening on the NorthNW blog.
