accommodate the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Please join us in the
City of Delaware at the Ohio Wesleyan University, Schimmel- Conrades Science
Center, Room 163. Conversation and refreshments begin at 7:00 PM; the
meetings and programs start at 7:30 PM. Parking is available next to the
Selby Stadium on the east side of Henry Street and in the lot south of the
Science Center next to Branch Rickey Arena.

October 22nd: Bluebirds and Beyond: Practicing the Conservation of Eleven
Avian Species since 1966 - Dick Tuttle, Retired Science Teacher and
Conservationist

Dick Tuttle, retired middle school science teacher and "Bluebirder,"
has helped fledge more than 42,000 birds, mostly in Delaware County.
Meticulous record keeping, analysis, and the success of others' projects
across the continent have been used to put into practice wildlife management
techniques that fledged more than 1700 birds in 2012 alone. Tuttle's
PowerPoint presentation will be chronological, starting with Eastern Screech
Owls and proceeding through artificial nest burrows for Northern
Rough-winged Swallows. An additional topic at the end of the evening's
program will be promoting an interest in birds with our own species by
teaching "Bluebird Trail Management" at OWjL Academic Camp. See you there.

If you want a copy of the full Oct. DCBC newsletter please email me
privately. Thanks!!

Darlene Sillick, program chair
