A co-worker came back after a weekend visit to the Hocking Hills. She and friends were walking the trails between Old Man's Cave and Cedar Falls when one woman slipped and hurt her ankle. Turned out to be a tib-fib fracture (both bones of the lower leg, just above the ankle joint.) While the paramedics were carrying her out, the rangers got a call about another person who had fallen and broken both ankles!

Also, my friends couldn't get cell service where they were located. Luckily, passers-by were able to climb up high enough to boost their connection from one bar to two, call 9-1-1 and get help. It still took a while for rescuers to locate them and hike in.

Let's be careful out there!
