Greetings, Karen and Rich Kassouf made a brilliant find today in Cuyahoga County, at very urban Brookside Reservation, part of Cleveland Metroparks. They first found it around 1 pm, and it was subsequently seen and photographed by at least two dozen folks till around 4:30 pm at least. PHOTOS at the NorthNW blog:

To access the spot, enter Brookside Reservation off of Ridge Road. Go east on John Nagy Boulevard, which is also the parkway drive, for about 500 feet. Pull off on either side of the road, and on the north side of the road you will see a grassy area with intermittent scattered leafless short trees. This is where they first found it, hawking insects and perching for extended views. Later in the afternoon the bird frequented the south side of the road, perching high in cottonwoods and sometimes frustratingly tricky to find as it blended in with the golden yellow and brown leaves of the large cottonwoods.

Congrats to the Kassoufs for an ace find.
