I have peanut and suet dough feeders, and have a long (many year) history of
many, many Downy, Hairy, and Red-bellied Woodpeckers. It was a rare occasion
that I would look out to the feeders and not see at least one or two (often
more) Downies or Hairys at the feeders, all day long. I even had a pair of
Piliated Woodpeckers daily at the peanut feeders for a month this year.

About 1.5 months ago, they *all* disappeared. I have literally not seen any
woodpecker at my feeders over the past month plus.

Other birds (Nuthatches, House Sparrows, etc.) have continued using the
peanut and suet dough feeders. But no woodpeckers.

Has anyone else noticed a lack of woodpeckers? Any explanations?
