Greetings - a single adult male Evening Grosbeak visited the feeders (black oil sunflower) at a private residence in Solon this afternoon. Photos taken. Evening Grosbeaks are staging an invasion into the NE states. PA and NY are seeing singles and small groups. If there ever was a time to put out platform feeders (they prefer trays and platform feeders over tube feeders) NOW is the time. This is a very very rare and special event as Evening Grosbeaks have not staged a southward invasion for many, many years.
