Some of you have asked about the road closure
here....................................below is the press release.

Also some have asked about Pipe Creek Wildlife Area.   That area remains
closed until January 11, 2013.

 

For Immediate Release

October 3, 2012

 

 

MAGEE MARSH WILDLIFE AREA TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

 

OAK HARBOR, OH - Access beyond the Sportsmen's Migratory Bird Center
located at the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area along the wildlife area road to
the beach area, including the boardwalk and beach trails, will be
closed, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR),
Division of Wildlife.

 

This portion of Magee Marsh wildlife area will be closed in order to
provide a quality hunting experience for Ohio's sportsmen and woman.

 

This road closure is in effect starting October 8 through October 27,
2012 and from November 5 through December 1, 2012. Additionally, the
road and beach area will be closed during the controlled youth deer
hunts scheduled on Saturday and Sunday November 17 and 18, 2012. 

 

The remaining Saturdays and Sundays during this time period hunters,
anglers, and wildlife viewer will be permitted access to the beach area
and wildlife trails on Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. until sunset and Sundays
from sunrise to sunset.

 

The Sportsmen's Migratory Bird Center and bird center walking trail will
remain open for wildlife viewing during the fall hunting season.
