To correct any confusion, my post titled cliff swallows from earlier today
should have read cave swallows.  I apologize for any confusion.   I was in a
hurry to report it and wrote cliff mistakenly.  I ended up counting a total
of 18 cave swallows this morning.  All were headed west in small flocks.
The largest flock was 7 birds.  I also had one barn swallow.  In addition I
had 16 unidentified swallows.  They either passed by early when the light
was bad, or were too far out, or too fast to be identified.  The last birds
were seen around 9:20.  I watched until 10:00 and saw no more swallows.
Cave swallows were also reported from Lake Ontario at Hamlin Beach, New
York- 96 birds and Whitefish Point, Michigan.  Keep your eyes open.



I had quite a few American goldfinches moving along the lake this morning
and only a few siskins.  I also had several passing flocks of chickadees,
Not a lot of kinglets or yellow-rumped warblers today.  There was also one
flock of about 40 cedar waxwings (nothing larger).
