I hit several areas around north Hoover Reservoir (northeast of Columbus) this afternoon and found a White Pelican off the east end of Oxbow Island.  It was an adult bird, and was swimming around the gravel bars out in the main channel of the reservoir.  I also stopped at Wiese Rd flats and the Sunbury causeway, but had little else of note for waterbirds other than a pair of Mute Swans off the west end of Oxbow, and a few cormorants and Great Blue Herons between both sites.

Interesting landbirds included a Sapsucker and Hermit Thrush along the Wiese Rd bikepath, and small flocks of Yellow-rumped Warblers and Cedar Waxwings at both Wiese and Oxbow.  Sparrows were also very apparent, with Field, Songs, and White-throateds at both spots, along with White-crowned at Wiese Rd.

On the down side, the Sunbury causeway has recently had the vegetation along its south side mostly removed.  It makes for a fantastic view from the roadbed, but will also likely lead to some fantastic erosion unless something covers that side.  Hopefully, the City of Columbus (which controls the site) has some plan for this spot.  If not, I'm sure some exotic vegetation will quickly invade the site.
