At about 10:30 this morning I saw nine tundra swans on O'Shaughnessy
Reservoir at area L just south of the Home Road marina. They were
somewhat distant but I knew I could get a better look if I went down the
road to area K. Sure enough, there was a better view of them from area K
but before I got a chance to take another look a guy in a kayak came along
and scared them away. They flew off to the north so they may still be on
the Reservoir. Also seen were many American coots and pied-billed
grebes. I had my first of season (except for at Lake Erie) Bonaparte's
gulls just north of the Home Road bridge.
