David Scali found and photographed an adult basic Black-headed Gull at Lorain Harbor pier sitting with many Ring-billeds and Bonies at 11:30 am today Monday. Did not see photos or hear of report till he posted on the Birding Ohio facebook page this evening. Excellent bird. Lorain Harbor pier access was blocked by police because of 20-30 foot waves and surge on the Lake Erie lakefront today.

Birders MUST heed warnings for localized flooding, storm surge, incredibly strong winds causing falling tree limbs, etc etc.
Right now on the lake, in Cleveland, we are seeing 30 to 40 mph winds with gusts to 50 and driving rain.
