If at all possible, and you haven't done so or planning so already, I urge everyone to check out their nearest reservoir and/ or large body of water in the VERY near future. Now would be a great time to see what Sandy brought us. From a few reports I've heard (latest: Dovekie Lake Michigan), there could be some great birds out there.
The Findlay Reservoirs yesterday evening hosted many Horned Grebes, Ruddy Ducks, Coot, Loons (28), and assorted other waterfowl. In addition, there were at least 5 species of gulls present ( Ring-billed, Herring, Bonaparte's, Lesser Black-backed and Great Black-backed). The only limiting factor it seemed yesterday to getting more birds was poor visibility.
