The Ohio Ornithological Society would like to invite their members to get up
close and personal with one of the most adorable birds on the planet! - A
Saw-whet Owl!

The Earl H. Barnhart Buzzard¹s Roost located in Chillicothe. South-east
Regional Director, Bob Scott Placier along with Kelly Williams-Sieg and Bill
Bostic have been banding Saw-whet Owls at their banding station since 2003
and have banded over 300!

The evening will begin with a short presentation on Saw-whets and the
importance of their research. A few of the board members of The Ohio
Ornithological Society will provide some potluck surprises along with some
warm beverages, but please feel free to bring something and contribute the
potluck. The first net run will take place around 8:15 or so. When the
first owl is captured, you will experience the process of weighing,
measuring and banding the little owls.
