Sorry for the late posting - I observed mature Bald Eagle flying towards and
circling the Cruiser Pond wetland area on Saturday afternoon at
approximately 5:45 PM. I checked the nest located at Three Creeks Metro
Park earlier today (Monday), and the eagles nest is still intact and clearly
visible from Bixby Road. All of the leaves have now fallen from the trees
in and around the eagle nest. I did not observe any birds specifically at
the nest due to my very short observation time (driving by), but I will keep
checking the area regularly from now through the next years nesting season.
If anyone else makes observations of eagles in or around Three Creeks Metro
Park, Walnut Woods Metro Park or Pickerington Ponds Metro Park, I would
appreciate you letting me know. If you locate any very large nests please
let me know that as well and I will forward the information on to ODNR after
verification of it being an eagles nest. Thanks

Rick Stelzer
