For over a week I've had an immature male Ruby-thrt coming to my feeder and flowers which are still lush.
Friday he was frantically feeding - drained the feeder so in the afternoon I filled it with fresh liquid---thinking that he
was going to leave Friday night which was to be clear, almost full moon and he was feeding constantly.
Sat. morning he was there at 7:15am. Again fed all day and all day Sunday. Monday morning Oct. 1st he was still here.
Returning home in early afternoon the feeder was almost empty, so I refilled it but he never came. This morning -Oct 2nd- at about 7:30am another Hummingbird was at the feeder, looking carefully I saw it was an immature female, and she acted differently than the immature male. All the rain we've had has kept the flower in bloom which may be a reason why they are lingering.

Remarkable, I'm happy to see them but not seeing them would mean they are in warmer climes.

Also have had 2-3 maybe more Red-breasted Nuthatches since Sept 11
