By mid morning today (11-1) the Mosquito Lake Western Grebe had moved from
the main lake and was far into the first bay in the state park off SR 305.
It was feeding in 1 to 2 feet of water with a group of cormorants. They were
having great success catching mostly shad but also bluegill and perch. I was
surprised at the quantity and variety of fish in that shallow water. Great
views of the grebe at just a couple hundred feet away.
