At about 11:30 this morning the greenhouse vents opened automatically and the Selasphorus hummingbird left. The owner of the business went out to check, but no bird - there is a feeder outside in case the hummer stays around. This bird had been there since October 26, west of Sugarcreek in extreme eastern Holmes County.

The Cattle Egret that spent the morning yesterday east of Berlin in Holmes County, left around noon and has not been reported since then. At least one local biking birder added the bird to his Bobolink Area year list - now over 250. I think the local biking record is 254, which most likely will be topped by two birders by Dec. 31.
