Taking advantage of the spectacular weather we hiked the trail this afternoon. In addition to  
large numbers of hairy & RB woodpeckers we got excellent looks at a pileated flitting from trunk 
to trunk, squawking and drumming.  Another highlight was the sighting of two bald eagles 
sitting in a tree about 200 yards north of the overlook deck.  Don't know if this is the resident 
pair but they didn't seem to be in a hurry to fly elsewhere.
