I forwarded Tom's post to my brother, Gary Bowman.  Gary's reply is
inserted below.

Tom, is there someone you can call to try to retrieve feathers before
they are disposed of?

If the records committee got a feather, an isotope analysis could be done
to determine the latitude where the feather was grown.  If it shows for
the Caribbean, it could be or even likely be wild.  If from a northern
latitude, it would definitely be an escapee.  Not sure of the cost of the
analysis.
