I received this note from a friend in Smithville. Has anyone ever seen kestrels hunting on the ground? "Was thinking about pruning a shrub in my yard. Decided to leave it for the winter and do it in spring because the birds like to stop in it on their way to the feeder. Just passed by my window and saw a kestrel running around under that bush trying to catch its Thanksgiving dinner. Glad I left the shrub to give the birds some cover, but it was neat seeing a little kestrel so close up." K. Bradley- Berea
