Today at 1:00PM a red-necked grebe was seen at La Due Reservoir in Geagua County.
In an attempt to relocate the red-necked grebe at 4:00 PM a western/Clark's grebe was found
by Kent Miller. The distance and light conditions made it difficult to rule out a Clark's grebe.
With 95% certainty he felt it was a second Ohio western grebe in the area. The red-necked
grebe was not relocated.
The birds were seen from Valley Rd., that runs along the west side of the lake, about midway
between route 422 and the dam.
Also, yesterday Kent found two red-throated loons and 49 common loons on LaDue. Today
only two commons were found. Birds are moving fast and furious now so I guess it's jump in
and hang on.
