It is presently 1:30PM Saturday afternoon, here on Lake Erie, in Ashtabula County. We have been watching a single Purple Sandpiper, with its cousin, a single Dunlin, feeding on the sandspit since 12:35PM. The weather is a perfect brutal birding day at Conneaut. The temperature is 37 degrees, with strong winds, and the waves cascading high over the breakwall. A good variety of waterfowl has been in the harbor area, with a lone male Common Goldeneye and two Black Scoters being the highlights.
