***Black River**** Audubon Lake Erie Event at Sandy Ridge*

North Ridgeville native, Christopher Winslow, Assistant Director of Ohio
State University’s Stone Laboratory, will present his talk “A Brief History
of Lake Erie: Why Are Harmful Algal Blooms Back?” on December 4 at 7 pm at
Sandy Ridge Reservation, 6195 Otten Road, N. Ridgeville.

Winslow, who attended **Ohio** **University** and BGSU, has also worked
with invasive fish species, nutrient loading, harmful algal blooms, and low
dissolved oxygen in **Lake Erie**.

According to Winslow, **Lake Erie** has been called the most important
fresh water lake in the world. It provides shelter and nourishment to
countless living organisms, including 11 million people that rely on it for
drinking water. “Unfortunately, Lake Erie also faces a number of challenges
that OSU’s Stone Lab, Ohio Sea Grant and other partners are working to
address,” Winslow explained. His talk will discuss the sources and
possible solutions for these problems plaguing **Lake Erie**
