Since I was going to Lakeview Cemetery today, I took the time to check for
the common redpolls that have been seen there over the last few days.

Not remembering where they'd been seen I went over by Garfield's Tomb,
where there are several sweet gum trees on a round a bout road. Easily 25 birds,
picking away at the gum balls. (Gum balls?) Also, flying down to the ground
and gathering up seeds from the grass and headstones.

They flew off, I think disturbed by squirrels that started foraging in the same
trees, and then a flock of juncos came to feed.

Very nice, close looks at the redpolls when they were on the lower branches.

Coming home, thought I might as well check Highland Park Cemetery too, since there
are two rows of large sweet gums, but, I only found juncos and red breasted nuthatches.
