At about 3:10 pm I had a LeConte's Sparrow about 20 to30 feet beyond the
wide platform area in on the east side of the boardwalk. This is in the
vicinity of two bare dark trunks of small trees, one each on opposite sides
of the boardwalk. I was returning from walking slowly to the end and was
very softly spishing almost like a soft thin whistle. The bird sat up in
the open for me to get my camera out of the bag and get off two shots that
appear to be good on the camera. What a day!
