In the frosty pre-dawn this morning, as I went out to get the morning
newspaper, there were two juncos under the feeders with the cardinals.
These juncos were the first of season here. I have been expecting them for
some time, since they have been widely reported elsewhere. And so, the
season marches on.

Both Carolina wrens and cardinals belted their songs through a still, cold
(27 degrees,) otherwise quiet and rosy dawn. A beautiful prelude to the day.
