I'm quite glad Ipper posted the alert and the photos -- a few false alarms
are a good sign of a healthy birding email list!

As a result of the posts, I learned more about Great Gray Owl (and Barred
Owl!) ID from discussions on the Birding Ohio facebook group, and about the
history of Great Gray occurrences in Ohio from posts to the Ohio-Birds
email list.   All in all, a good learning experience for everyone. :-)
