I was very happy to close out the year with 22 Evening Grosbeaks as
previously reported on
Mohican Road #51, near the Gorge Overlook. The birds were in a tree
behind and to the left of
a gray house which is on the south side of the road.

According to the woman who lives there, they have been seen for about 2
to 3 weeks.

Also seen while on the road were a Bald Eagle near the Malabar Farm
Restaurant, about 25
Wild Turkeys on Rt 97, just east of Butler, OH, about 100 crows also on
Rt 97, just east of Lexington, Oh
and another Bald Eagle which was trying to snag a Coot at Clear Fork
Reservoir, on Rt. 97.

On the way back, I stopped at Wellington Upground Reservoir. There was a
nice variety of ducks, a lot of
Canada Geese, and PB Grebes and Coots. It should be a nice place to get
a variety of New Years Day birds.

See you on the trails,

Chris Pierce
N. Olmsted, OH
