I birded along the lake shore from Lorain to Sim's Park in Euclid today.
My last stop was Sim's Park where I had 2 CAVE SWALLOWS. The birds showed
up around 3:15pm and circled over me for about 15 minutes before heading
west along the lake shore. Other highlights were a raft of WHITE-WINGED
SCOTERS also at Sim's Park and 2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS at Avon Lake.
There are a lot of gulls at both Avon Lake and Wendy Park/Edgewater
including a lot of Bonaparte's Gulls. I could not pick any other gulls of
interest at the two places (besides the 2 Lesser Black-backs at Avon and a
few Great Black-backs at Wendy Park) but it is probably worth stopping at
these two places if you are birding in the area over the next few days.
Good Birding!
