I went yesterday, and again today, to look for the redpolls, reported by
Matt Valencic on Saturday. Yesterday, all I saw was a a promising flock,
but it didn't land and I wasn't certain.

Today, along Valley Road I finally got on to a flock that landed in a large
stand of alders and was able to see them well, as they fed on the little seed pods.

Upwards of thirty birds. And then on the way back to the boat house, I saw
another smaller flock land in the alders right behind the boat house.

The same mix of ducks as has been there for the last week. Rudy ducks,
a few red heads and a few ring necked ducks. Coots and pied billed grebes.
Three c.loons.

Inga Schmidt
