Adult BLACK-HEADED GULL found by Gabe Leidy on the BSBO boat trip just offshore East 72nd street (Cleveland Lakefront State Park). Bird was easily visible from shore amidst hundreds of Bonaparte's Gulls. There are over 5,000+ Bonaparte's staging at Wendy Park with gull totals close to 55,000+ in the harbor and another 45,000 staging down the Cuyahoga plus shoreline industrial sites and iron ore mounds and building tops. An immature POMARINE JAEGER continues to put on a show at Wendy Park. Jerry Talkington and I had the bird fly 30 feet overhead (on shore) at Wendy, hanging in the wind for full-frame photos, before it terrorized the harbor repeatedly throughout the late afternoon.
