As of 12:30PM this afternoon, Monday; 2 Great Egrets continue to be hanging out at the backwater bay of Newell's Run. Newell's Run enters the Ohio River under SR7 a short distance downstream of the town of Newport. A short loop, Newell's Run Road, connecting to Mud Lane, connecting to SR7, circles the bay for viewing. This area is upstream of I-77 at Marietta. Some of the other birds of interest were 43 Hooded Mergansers, 14 Double-crested Cormorants, 6 Pied-billed Grebes, and 2 Belted Kingfishers.
