Arrived at about 8:20 am and also looked on Sunday from about 3:30 to 5:00
pm. The Varied Thrush was apparently seen last at 2:00 pm on Sunday
according to the birding grapevine. Monday the Varied Thrush was not
seen. Three ladies were present before I arrived Monday. Besides Ben
Warner and Heather Raymond, who stayed most of the day as I did, about 6 to
8 people appeared in the afternoon and no one reported seeing the elusive
thrush. We checked at 163, 166, the area around the adjacent tennis courts
and scanned the edges and dirt mounds behind and in the vicinity of the
trampoline where the thrush was seen Sunday morning. I left at about 4:50
pm. Everyone during my observations stayed on the roadways, sidewalks and
the edge of the tennis courts and tried to be respectful of private
property. There was a flock of 9 Common Redpolls feeding on birch catkins
in the complex
