This morning just before noon I saw a mixed flock of Horned Larks and
Lapland Longspurs in eastern Madison County. I estimated the flock to be
40-50 birds, and at least a dozen were Lapland Longspurs.
To reach the location, take State Route 665 east from London to McGuire
Road, turn right (south) onto McGuire and follow McGuire to Hume-Lever Road.
The flock was on Hume-Lever Road just south of McGuire.
Route 665 can also be accessed from I-71 in southwest Franklin County. Take
SR665 west from there to McGuire Road.
