A very bedraggled great blue heron is back at his/her post in one of the Shaker Lakes @ intersection of Attleboro and Parkland Rds., on the Attleboro stretch (Shaker Heights, Cuyahoga Cty). Hanging out in a thawing patch, along with mallards. He/she was there daily this summer, even when the lake was only a teeny eutrifying puddle due to the drought. (I'm a novice, ergo unsure how to tell male from female in this case.)
