We observed flock of 14 WW Crossbills actively feeding tree tops of tall
conifers. They were noisy and flew frequently from one tree to the next
near the west gate.

Subject: Re: [Ohio-birds] Greenlawn Common Redpolls, Columbus

The birds must have read my post. A single common redpoll showed up at my
feeder (near OSU) after the rain cleared out and has been feeding off and on
for an hour. A yard bird first.

the feeders were swarming with birds.

feeder together.....also able to watch the redpolls on the thistle feeder,
the sunflower seed feeder, in the trees, and foraging on the ground. They
remained for the full hour I was there. There were many woodpeckers, and
multiples of everything except the mockingbird and crow. With five feeders,
the ground, and the trees to scan, there was action everywhere I looked.
Delightful way to break up the cloudy afternoon.
