I've been poking around the state this week.

A few days ago I was up at the lake as was disappointed to see the Lorain Harbor completely closed off. There was no access to the river mouth or the pier like last year. Does anybody know why or if this is permanent?

I'm at 96 for the year right now in Ohio and hope get this 100 thing over and done with in the next couple of days. Some sightings that may be of interest :

Lake White in Pike County is open and holds thousands of waterfowl. Most of the puddle ducks were well represented yesterday (except G-w Teal). Among the thousands of Canada Geese were 5 Snow Geese. There is a constant turnover there, so it is always worth a check.

A day at Zaleskl SF (Vinton Co,) today was highlighted by a flock of 14 RED CROSSBILLS. Otherwise finches were hard to come by and I think I saw only one American Goldfinch all day.
