This is a 3rd hand report via Kent Miller on Facebook (and previously
elsewhere by Greg Links?).

Location: Ottawa River interpretive trail, Toledo. 4280 Hoffman Rd. Along
the southeast side of the river, just west of I75, just south of the
Michigan border.

Described by the observer(s) to Kent as "...adult with a mantle
intermediate between Lesser & Greater Black-backed. Size also intermediate
between the two; Herring Gull size. Bright pink legs. Striking dark streak
through the eye. Larger white crescent on the rear of the scapulars than
other black-backs when sitting. An eagle put the birds up once but the
observer struggled to stay on the bird in the throngs. He noted seeing
white spots in the primaries but didn't feel he had seen the string of
pearls pattern well enough to be totally satisfied."
