A turn around the Darby Bend Lakes area of Prairie Oaks Metro Park this morning turned up decent diversity, considering the ponds are almost completely frozen over, with many Canada Geese and Mallards camped on the ice. However, there's a small patch of open water on the northeast side of the south pond, and this held Am. Coots, Ruddy Ducks, a couple of Ring-Necked Ducks, a Gadwall, and a Horned Grebe in winter plumage (but showing hints of incipient horns). A pair of adult Bald Eagles also stopped briefly in the treetops along Big Darby Creek while I was there.
