I got to do quite of bit of birding in Mahoning Co. the last couple days.  Here are the highlights.......at Evans L.: 5 tundra swans, 50 n. shovelers, great blue heron, and Bonaparte's gull.  Poland Twp.: 9 wild turkeys, Cooper's hawk, red-breasted nuthatch, 2 brown-headed cowbirds.  Mahoning River, Struthers: ring-necked ducks, lesser scaup, great blue heron, bald eagle, belted kingfisher, n. mockingbird.  Calla Rd., Beaver Twp.: snow goose (blue), 40 Am. tree sparrows.  Knopp Rd., Green Twp.: 80 horned larks, Lapland longspur.  Am. kestrel in North Jackson.  At L. Milton: snow goose (blue), 23 Am. black ducks, 4 n. shovelers, 30 c. goldeneyes, 57 hooded mergansers, ruddy duck, 2  pied-billed grebes, red-shouldered hawk, 21 Bonaparte's gulls, adult lesser black-backed gull, red-headed woodpecker, e. bluebirds, n. mockingbird.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
