On the tip reported here about the Redpolls at Holden, some co-workers and 
I tooka lunch break over to Holden to see if we can see the Hoary.  We 
went back to the woodland feeding station, "Buckeye Bud", and patiently 
waited while about 20 or so Common Redpolls arrived and fed with some Pine 
Siskins, and other typical winter birds.  Eventually work dutied called 
and we admitted defeat.  While walking out we saw a number of birds at the 
feeding station to the left of the building that is left of the visitor 
center.  We were quickly rewarded with looks of a flock of about 100 
redpolls, of which we were able to locate at least one Hoary before the 
flock took off for the forest.  This flock was different than the one we 
were watching in the woods, so there are well over 100 Redpolls at Holden 
Arboretum.
