I visited several areas this morning between these two spots in the SE suburbs of Columbus looking for migrant waterfowl & early landbird migrants. I stopped at Gahanna Woods, Blacklick Ridge, Wengert Rd, Pickerington Ponds, and Portman Park. The Gahanna Wetland pond is still frozen, while the pond at Blacklick Ridge has lost many of its waterfowl, and had only some Mallards and Canada Geese left. Pickerington Ponds is starting to unfreeze, and both Ellis and Teal Ponds had some open water and lots of dabbling ducks. Notables included:

Mallards & BlackDucks - the dominant dabblers at Pick Ponds, with 50 & 70 at Ellis Pond, and 120 & 20 at Teal Pond
Green-winged Teal - 25 were mixed in with the Mallards at Teal Pond
N.Shoveler - 1 pair in one of the openings on Ellis Pond
Gadwall - 3-4 were along the shore at Ellis Pond
N.Pintail - about 12+ scattered between Ellis and Teal Ponds
Cooper's Hawk - only one, a male calling & displaying at Portman Park
Turkey Vulture - leisurely soaring singles at both Pick Ponds and Portman Park
Woodpeckers - nothing unusual, but many Red-bellies & Downies at most sites
Brown Creeper - only 1, creeping around the trees at Gahanna Woods
E.Bluebirds - small flocks of 2-3 at Gahanna Wetland, several areas of Pick Ponds, and Portman Park
Mockingbirds - singles were at the Wood Duck feeder at Pick Ponds and at Portman Park
Horned Lark - not much movement, with single flyovers at Blacklick Ridge and Portman Park
Tree Sparrows - small flocks were at Wengert Rd and on the Meadowlark Trail at Pick Ponds.
White-crowned Sparrows - 3-4 are still frequently the Wood Duck lot feeder at Pick Ponds
Harris' Sparrow - as mentioned earlier, this rarity is still frequenting the Wood Duck lot feeder at Pick Ponds
Rusty Blackbird - 1 was around this same feeder around 11:30
Redwings - 3-4 were around the Wood Duck Feeder, while others were at Gahanna wetlands and Blacklick Ridge Pond
ComGrackles - 1-2 were at several spots, including the Wood Duck lot feeder and Portman Park
