For birders who have visited Big Island Wildlife Refuge in Marion County, I
have recently updated the names of the eBird Hot Spots there. The shared
bird reporting hot spots were previously named for the lettered "units" of
the Wildlife Area, but there are no signs on the property to identify these
areas. I have added road names to the locations to make them easier for you
to identify when you are birding there.

Here is a complete list of the hot spots in the area:
Big Island Wildlife Area
Big Island Wildlife Area--Espyville Rd. north (Unit C)
Big Island Wildlife Area--Espyville Rd. south
Big Island Wildlife Area--Herr Rd.
Big Island Wildlife Area--Larue-Prospect Rd. south (Unit I)
Big Island Wildlife Area--Larue-Prospect Rd. north (Unit B)
Big Island Wildlife Area--Marion-Agosta Rd. north (Units D & F)
Big Island Wildlife Area--Marion-Agosta Rd. south (Units G & H)
Big Island Wildlife Area--Prospect-Upper Sandusky Rd. (Unit E)
Marion Tallgrass Trail--East

Please visit the Ohio eBird Hot Spot web site for a description of the area
and links to maps and tips for birding Big Island:
