Hi Paul,

I had an orange house finch visit our Worthington feeder a winter or two ago (off & on, but never when a camera was nearby!). Cool looking birds, I believe I read the color variation was due to a nutrient deficiency during molt.

Glad you finally saw the crossbills! I saw a small flock by the worthington rec center. We planted hemlocks & pines in hopes of one day luring them to our yard.

Cheers,
Heather
