(evening)
Woodcock Watch
Led by Jim Tomko
At the Aurora
Sanctuary
Are we voyeurs? Yes! But they do not
seem to mind! Let us be taken in by the twilight romance flight of the woodcock?
If you have not had a chance to view and hear the courtship flight display of
our local timber doodles then you should not miss this “show”! These upland
“shore birds” do not live near the shore! They love our wet woodlands and
usually we have several displaying at the same time. It is a short walk to their
singing grounds, but dress for the weather and wear waterproof footgear. Meet at
the parking lot on the east side of Townline Rd. a mile north of State Rt. 82 in
Aurora.
